THE SMOKIN' BARREL -- UTILITY HELP by J.L. Kohli ---------------------------------- ********* *CON MAN* ********* *IMPORTANT* first make a folder you will put the extracted files into - this is important for a later step! (make it outside of you Outlaws folder, perhaps on the desktop) 1. open Con Man (make sure you've unzipped/installed it first!) 2. click on the FILE menu 3. choose OPEN CONTAINER 4. go to your Outlaws folder, and choose the .LAB file you want to edit -- for example, to extract the .wav sounds, choose: olsfx.lab 5. now you may select the files you want to edit. to select them all, simply hold the CTRL key and tap the A key and let go. 6. click on the FILE menu 7. choose EXTRACT FILES 8. choose the folder you first created - DO NOT CHANGE THE FILE NAME that is already there (i.e. AAADIE.WAV) that needs to be there. 9. now you're done. edit the .wav files with a program, such as Gold Wave and/or Sound Recorder in START/PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/ENTERTAINMENT *IMPORTANT* Con Man is not only for .wav sound files, I am only using these particular files as an example. You may need to download other programs to edit files found in the .LAB files you open using Con Man NOTE: I am not liable for any problems/mishaps you have using the Con Man. Contact them if you have any further questions. This file is only a guide to get newbies started. *********************************** *http://thesmokinbarrel.tripod.com* ***********************************
